I was trying to find the birthplace of Baba Kim Teck and accidentally found this page while googling. May I know from which state Baba Kim Teck comes from? Melaka or Penang?

Encik Zainudin, Dr Lee & Mr. Tan,

I am glad to come across to this website whereby there are still people mentioning Baba Kim Teck whom is my grandfather and Mr Lee Yoke Poh is my uncle. I am trying my best to recall the recording make during which my grandfather and Che Chik Mohamad Amin was singing in the Dondang Sayang Final competition over RTM Live. I can’t remember that year.

I agree to En Zainudin statement saying that no point quarreling. At that time, Malay & Chinese are like brother and sister. They sing, dine and laughter each other. These day the environment of getting together is dying off.

When I was a little boy and so naive, I use to listen to my grandfather singing or compose a pantun at a car porch in the evening. He is very talented with composing pantun even though he illiterate. What has left is only a name by himself and so pity that no one follow his footstep after he passed away.

May there always be happiness.

i wish to cordially invite all the nyonyas & babas in this association to a peranakan lunch/high tea in penang heritage hotel 1926 at 16sept 2012 at 11am on the occasion of a wedding celebration of my daughter with a traditional chinese /straits chinese flavour.All peranakan members are welcomed with open arms especially stephen hall & su kim. we met at melta/micelt a no of times. see u
